The terms, defined once.
Short definitions of the words that get used loosely in this market — with Meta’s own wording where Meta has published it, and the date we checked.
- 24-hour customer service window
- The 24 hours that begin each time a customer messages you. Inside it you can reply in your own words and most messages are free; outside it you can only send an approved template.
- Green tick verification
- The badge WhatsApp shows beside a business name to mark it as an Official Business Account. Businesses still call it the green tick; Meta now renders it as a blue checkmark.
- BSP vs Tech Provider
- Two different relationships a company can have with Meta. The distinction decides who bills you for messages — and therefore who is able to add a margin to them.
