Pricing

What the WhatsApp API costs, both halves of it.

Meta charges for the messages. A platform charges for the software. Most quotes blend the two — this page separates them, and sends you to Meta for the rate rather than quoting it back to you.

Your bill has two parts, and only one is ours

Confusing them is how a quote gets to look cheap. A low plan price with a marked-up message rate costs more than the reverse at almost any real volume.

Meta

What Meta charges

Per message, by category, at a rate that varies by country and moves when Meta revises its rate cards. This is billed by Meta.

Messago

What we charge

A flat monthly plan for the software. Published, the same for everyone, with no per-message component of any kind.

Messago

What we add to Meta’s charge

Nothing. Meta’s message charges are passed through at Meta’s rate, and it is the same charge on Starter as on Enterprise.

What Meta charges for

Since 1 July 2025 Meta prices per message, not per conversation, and the category of the message decides the price. This is the table that actually determines your bill.

Marketing

Charged on every delivery

Offers, announcements, re-engagement, anything promotional.

There is no window in which a marketing template is free. This is the line item that grows with your list.

Utility

Free inside an open 24-hour window

Order updates, appointment reminders, transaction notices.

The only template category that is ever free — and only when the customer has messaged you in the last 24 hours. Outside the window it is charged.

Authentication

Charged on every delivery

One-time passcodes and login verification.

The window exemption does not extend to authentication. It is charged inside an open window as well as outside one.

Service

Free until 1 October 2026

Your ordinary replies inside a conversation the customer started.

Meta begins charging for service messages on 1 October 2026, at the same rates as utility and authentication. Worth planning for now.

Why there is no rupee figure on this page

Meta publishes a rate card per country and revises it — the current rates took effect on 1 July 2026, and service-message pricing changes again on 1 October 2026. A rate printed on a vendor’s page is a rate that goes quietly out of date between deploys, and a stale number on a pricing page is worse than no number.

So read it at the source. That is also the plainest proof of the thing we claim: a platform taking a cut of Meta’s rate would not send you to Meta to check it.

Questions

Questions about cost

How much does the WhatsApp Business API cost?

Two separate bills. Meta charges per message, by category, at a rate that depends on the country you are messaging — you can read the current rate card on Meta’s own site. The platform you use charges for its software; ours starts at ₹1,999 a month plus GST, with unlimited WhatsApp numbers on every paid plan.

Which WhatsApp messages are free?

Your ordinary replies inside an open 24-hour customer service window are free until 1 October 2026, and utility templates delivered inside that window are free. Everything reached through a click-to-WhatsApp ad is free for 72 hours. Marketing and authentication templates are charged on every delivery.

Do you mark up Meta’s message charges?

No. Meta’s charges are passed through at Meta’s rate, and the rate is the same on every plan we sell — the entry plan and the enterprise plan pay Meta identically. We are telling you to go and read Meta’s published rate card, which is not something a platform taking a margin on it could sensibly do.

Why do other platforms quote different per-message rates?

Because some publish a rate card of their own rather than Meta’s, and some vary it by the plan you bought. Meta’s underlying charge does not change with your subscription tier, so a per-message rate that improves when you upgrade is a margin being disclosed.

Is there a setup fee or a per-user charge on top?

No setup fee. Each plan includes a fixed number of users and unlimited WhatsApp numbers, so adding another number does not move you up a tier. GST is added at 18% at checkout, and prices on the site are quoted before it.

Will my costs go up as I send more?

Your Meta bill will, because it is per message. Your plan price will not until you need more seats. The lever that matters most is category: moving work into utility templates inside an open window, and out of marketing templates, changes the bill more than any discount you could negotiate.

Can I see what I am spending?

Yes. Meta’s insights break your spend down by category and by paid-versus-free, and the reporting in Messago shows what you sent and what was delivered. The two together are what you need to know whether a campaign paid for itself.
